Nova Scotia Nominee Program
This program allows Nova Scotia to recruit and select immigrants who can contribute to meeting the labour market and economic needs of the province.
Temporary Foreigner Worker Program
This program allows eligible foreign workers to work in Canada for an authorized period of time if employers can demonstrate that they are unable to find suitable Canadians/permanent residents to fill the jobs and that the entry of these workers will not have a negative impact on the Canadian labour market.

The Department of Labour and Workforce Development and the Office of Immigration are considering developing legislation regulating the recruitment and employment of temporary foreign workers.
